Coaching Certification

The Leeds Corporation of Long Island has received approval from the State Education Department / The University of New York, to offer inservice courses to meet the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education (135.4) for coaches.

Our approved program of instruction requires study in the following three areas:

  1. Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics (45 hours / 3 credits)
  2. Theory and Techniques of Coaching (45 hours / 3 credits)
  3. Health Sciences Applied to Coaching (45 hours / 3 credits)

The coach will receive a Certificate of Completion for each course complete towards their coaching certification from the Leeds Corporation of Long Island.

Please Note!

The coaching certification course – Health Sciences Applied to Coaching and Athletics – can now be taken as an online course, certified by the New York State Education Department.
